That's probably how it'll happen, but for some reason, I think they'll break out of their respective despairs by themselves, rather than a single pony doing it for them.

I don't mind him going along with the plan if it's intentional on his part. Luna's immortal too. I'm sure the time she spent in the moon was still pretty rough though

Why people still belive that NM Moon prison was literal prison isntead something magical where she propably don't had any physical form. Not to mention that they see Luna in this not Nightmare Moon.

For you tumblr lovers, I have found another Pinkie blog. Why do all the Ask Pinkie tumblrs have good art and are fairly entertaining?

And why do YOU keep trying to seperate them all the time? Word Of God might have said that something corrupted Luna, but she was still partially responsible for her actions. She also said that she desperately missed Celestia, meaning that whatever happened to Luna's consciousness, it was nonetheless aware for 1000 years. She was able to feel loneliness for a 1000 years.

I'm not seperating them, I just don't like that fans treat them like exacly one pony, with one personality with no difrence and how fans make Luna victim of Celesria with this Moon Prison thing.

NM and Luna are not separate characters but they are not exacly one characters, just like Darth Vader and Anakin.

I'm going on record as saying that at the moment, we really don't know enough about Nightmare Moon/Luna to know what the heck was going on there. All we know is that:

1. She was somehow stuck on the moon, possibly conscious

2. Luna wasn't entirely responsible for her actions as NM, although she seems to feel remorse over it, implying that she was at least kinda aware of what she was doing.

My guess is that whatever it was that turned her into Nightmare Moon, it just exaggerated Luna's own emotions; I don't think that she was totally perfect before she got corrupted.

"Darth Vader and Anakin" is probably the best analogy we can get.

In both cases, it's just an extremely simplified take on the concepts of evil and redemption, even if it is called a magical force, it's not something with elaborate fantasy rules, just a metaphor for temptation, and sin.

But they can be referenced like they are one characters with two names. It was NM who refuse to lower Moon, start fight with sister, was inprisoned in the moon and whanted night to be forever . (OK maybe in time when she refused to lower moon she was still Luna).

Just like it was Vader who masacred Jedi Temple and was Dragon to Emperor.

I don't mean this in an (overly) bad way, but guys...

One knows they're a neeeeeeeeeeeeerd when they're arguing about My Little Pony by using Star Wars as a case in point.

Death, why do you seem to assume Celestia has near omnipotent planning skills? She hasn't seemed particularly plan-having to me during season 1.

They need to lower that censorship or writers will run out of ideas soon.

And lowering those limits don't mean that show will be ruined forever or girls will stop watch it. Just like adding more fandom nods.

Seeing as Luna had to be Luna for them to have sealed away Discord as depicted on the windows, it's unreasonable to assume she had more important things on her mind.

(More important right up until he breaks out, that is.)

Edit: I just rewatched the latest trailer thing, and I noticed the music is rather disconcerting wherever Discord is involved. That's kinda cool, eh?

There's something we're all forgetting: Maybe Celestia doesn't know that Discord can be released via arguing? If I were him I'd try my darndest not to reveal that little factoid, in the hopes that she'd put me somewhere with a lot of people. Maybe the CMC alone didn't break Discord out, maybe it was an accumulative thing. A 1000 years of built up Discordant energy from arguing ponies that passed by him, tipped over the edge by the CMC, allowing him to escape

I'll disagree with that; I think a truly creative writing team can come up with lots of story ideas even within the confines of the established story bounds. Saying "we can't have any more ideas because of the EI limits" is a cheap way out, like a comedian trying to get laughs by dropping F-bombs or using toilet humor.

What exactly do the EI limits say? I'm intrigued. ...or just hungry for something to poke fun of. Either way.

Not to mention, having restrictions can produce some great "getting crap past the radar" moments.
