I just looked it up on KYM and I still don't really get it.

People latch on to the strangest things, sometimes, and then they become memes.

That accuratly describes seasons 2 and 3 of Spider-man 1960 but the first season was filled with short 15 minute bouts against actual supervillians. Though even that was pretty nonsensical. He once had to fight against Electro, Green Goblin and Vulture all at once. He specifically said they were all too stupid to be the brains behind the team up so he concluded the TRUE mastermind was an invisible guy. Then he beat everyone with ventriliquism. Seasons 2 and 3 had severe budget cuts so they had to reuse a ton of animation. Not just from Spider-man but also from Rocket Robin Hood. That's why so many episodes have Spider-man fighting creatures from another dimension as seen here.

By the way, this does not pertain to the current conversation, but I did some comparison with voice Actresses for German dubs and discovered that Twilight and Mami have the same voice actress. Same with Rarity and Kyubey. Make of that what you will.

I love how The Vulture just conjures missles out of his feathers. And yeah, that girly eyelash thing you posted is way worse. I wonder if they just copied those bits from elsewhere? There's no way they'd go to the trouble of drawing extra detailed stuff like that, especially since it doesn't even match the normal art style.
