I hope if they do go that route, that the children of the other mane cast members (if they even have any, I think one or two shouldn't) actually DON'T become close friends with the mane character. He/she find her best friends elsewhere

I actually think that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy would go better together, but that would leave Rarity with Pinkie Pie. I'm one of those "any idea can be done well" people, and I think it would be really tough to pull that off.
