I went to the first Pokemon movie with my brother, and the theater told us they were out of the Foil Mew trading card game cards. We wanted to see it anyway so we went into the theater, and some kids that came in behind us were waving the cards they had just gotten from the ticket booth. They had lied to us about being out of cards because we were too old in their eyes to want that sort of thing, we stormed out and complained to a manager and he gave them to us.... begrudgingly.

I remember spending all my money on Pokemon cards as a kid. Though fortunately, my parents stopped me from paying $20 for one card. Anyway, I never got the foil Mew. I just got a Promo Dragonite instead.
If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
I never collected the cards, I just played the crap out of the games. I really truly got into the Pokemon scene in the third generation, then kept porting my crew forward to Sinnoh and then Unova. I still occasionally play the old g3 carts again to get more migration bait.
I'm still wondering if there'd be a news reaction to the movie (specifically, to us)

Last post I made I just got a fake virus alert, seems to have come from this site. Wanted me to download some crap to run to get rid of the virus...

I was only into the show when I was little, then I got the games but couldn't figure them out, but I was able to play properly after I got my Ruby version, which I still have my '04 save from.

There almost certainly would be news stories. Anyway, I think the cards were probably my first exposure to Pokemon. Someone gave me starter set, and I think Zap! as well.

I only ever watched the show when I was younger

I somewhat recently tried playing Emerald using only Grass-types (only type which can learn every HM necessary.)
I watched it on and off from Indigo League (Season 1) to Battle Frontier (Season 9). I lost interest in the newer anime at the beginning of the DP Saga, but I still watch the older episodes that I have on VHS.

Meh, could never get into the pokemon games. I was never any good at them and I didn't find them at all interesting

It's kinda like bug catching or something, only you can catch these massive guys who can rearrange the map when they tantrum.
@ turtle, uh uh watch it.
@ movie, I don't think there's be a big deal made until/unless there are lines of bronies waiting outside for tickets.

Ah Nintendo taking the most WTF concepts and turning them into beloved times.

Ah, Pokemon. I'm honestly surprised that the use of pokemon the way they use them in the show is even legal.
Fluttershy would throw a fit if she found her way over to their world
