@ginger My thoughts are more "Why not?"

Though we're not sure how deep the transformation runs, so I assumed organs wouldn't be affected.

So, a male changeling could turn into a female pony, but still be biologically male.

Didn't we have some theories floating around that Cadance's secret was that she was actually a dude? Perhaps we were closer than we realized. Chrysalis just went with the queen form to fit into the matriarchal pony society.
