You know, at first I was a bit disappointed that the day was saved by the power of love, instead of something more impressive sounding, but thinking about it the attack did look rather impressive

and the power of love seemingly solves about 50% of all Anime problems, so its not like other shows haven't done the same thing, without the excuse of being a girls show.

I still want a proper fight with a big bad at some point though. The closest we have had is Twi and NM charging at each other.

The internet is the realm of chaos, but not all chaos is evil.

Although I do like the idea of Changelings not liking mirrors, largely for existential reasons. Say it with me kids! This is not my face! Where is my face!?

@Colin: I still reject the notion that we can label the changelings as 'good' or 'evil'.

@Purple: Meh. I still prefer the identity crises route. they spend their whole lives looking like somepony else. They're never 'allowed' to wear their real face, or they won't be able to feed. What sort of identity can a creature like that feel, especially in a situation where they're surrounded by creatures who have their identities clearly printed for the world to see. Every time they look in a mirror they see a face that isn't them, and they're forced to wonder who 'they' really are, or if 'they' even exist. I sincerely doubt they consider themselves ugly.

Interesting idea but the Changelings came across as a Hive Mind to me (they look like insects after all) so they wouldn't care about identity.

And they are quite ugly.

Another possible reason that one would try to abandon the predatory route: if they simply get sick of having to wear a different face.
