I imagine they do eat but not very much. Their shapeshifting magic should buff their strength when transformed, so you may not notice their weaker true jaw strength.

@Ginger Cool I like fruit bats as well.

I like to think the changelings like a nice ice cream now and again that's why they've got mouths. The fangs are for when they feel for a sizzling steak or roast chicken.
