Speaking of Applebuck Season. Applejack wins the most Helpful pony award, it's a shame we never really get to see that selflessly helpful side to her at any other point during the series (I mean helpful to ponies other than her friends). Seems kinda like an Informed Ability

Twilight's teleported a few times in other eps I think (including the spam in Applebuck)

Twilight uses her teleport once an episode - in the opening! =P

In all seriousness now, I think Twilight's teleport is something that, for whatever reason, can't be used all the time as there's a risk that one stray thought about Big Macintosh will cause her to turn into that one creature in Galaxy Quest that had a Teleporter Accident...

She's pretty quick to use it in Appebuck Season though. Was she THAT focused on Applejack at the time?

Granted, but the show makes it look like nobody remembers she can even do that. Not so much as a phrase about it being risky or somesuch.

I always fan-wanked that Applejack was just hallucinating the frequency of Twilight's teleporting. :D

Well In G1 "unicorn" was synonymous with "teleporter", but Fi M made magic more sophisticated and closer to fantasy wizardry, requiring a combination of talent, skill and knowing the right spells.

Maybe Twilight doesn't teleport more often because she has to medidate for 8 hours first. :p

Yes. That much.

...Honestly I don't think there's any definite answer why she uses it so freely in Applebuck Season and seems to forget it for the rest of the season. Maybe Season 2 will clear it up?

Or maybe after the whole business with Trixie, she didn't want to outshine her friends by using such an extravagant power all the time. Maybe after living for such a long period without teleportation she sometimes forgets that she can even do it (explaining the hydra example)

But who's nose do they use to do the measuring? Probably Celestia's. Whenever a body part is used as a unit of measurement, you tend to go with the monarch.

I don't think that works. If that were the case the "nose" would be a third of a normal ponies body length. True monarchs tend to be larger in Real Life but not by THIS much.
