Oh, something I noticed but forgot to point out: during Twilight's song at the beginning, when it shows those guards saluting (at 4:17), three of them appear to be Winged Unicorns (you have to look for it, since all the guards in that shot have their wings folded). I can only assume that this was an animation error and that those three were meant to be normal unicorns (like "Pluto").

Long enough to for Cadence to have languished significantly in her prison. She was too weak to use much magic or even push that mine cart a few inches, not to mention how messed up she looked in general (though that may have been abuse at the hooves of her captor). I'd say 2-3 days if she was about as physically strong as a normal pony. Much longer if not.

The Wonderbolts are modeled after the Blue Angels, which is a military organization. Now that we've seen Soarin's dress uniform I'd say it's safe to assume that the Wonderbolts are also a military organization.
