Unfortunatly we learned absolutly nothing about what Alicorns are or where they come from. Pretty sure Cadence isn't immortal like Celestia or Luna. I'm kind of getting the vibe that ALL alicorns are given the title princess (or prince) by default.

Has anyone identified the voice actors for Shining Armour, Cadence or the Queen yet?

@Chada They're pony-shaped bugs. Besides, they can shapeshift, so that probably means they can be whatever they want.

Also, I didn't think they were alicorns, and they just had antennae.

@Will Keaton: I get the feeling that all nobles are Prince/Princess by default. Makes it easier for the target demographic.

And I really wasn't expecting an explanation about why Cadence was an Alicorn, probably because it would have ultimately been unnecessary to the plot.
