I didn't really like Shrek. Apparently, the new Pixar film Brave was suggested after Shrek came out, when they wanted to get in on that kind of humor. However, after 3 or so rewrites and several director changes, it's become a nice Pixar original.

@Sky Strike: To be honest I think they did the best they could under the circumstances. Doing otherwise would have required a more involved story arc then what GGG had.
