We don't have, like, the original as in the paper it was written on. But that stuff is preserved pretty carefully, and the Vulgate of St. Jerome dates to the 4th century. We have stuff older than that, too.

@ginger Thanks for ignoring my DBZ Abridged reference. ;_;

Anyway, I liked Chris because her design was cute, but she was a monster.

Also, I went to Christian school for elementary, so I always liked Brick Testament.

I guess the number of the best counts as our first derail of the day. Oh well, we did manage to stay on topic for an amazing 67 pages.

@sera: Most Catholics I know take the figurative route. The only Creationists I ever met were Protestants, but that's just me.

Heh. I have to go to church in about an hour or so, and I walk in on a bible discussion. But first I'm rewatching the episode. tongue

I still like Crys.

[up] And I guess they have different goals, so I have to judge them differently.

The old testament seemed vaguely interesting in that it was all very clearly metaphorical.

It's also funny that it's the bit that most Christians point to for stuff, despite their religion being built entirely upon the new testament.

I used to live across the street from a pastor who studied biblical theory in university. IT was funny, because he could - and would - rip into the bible unlike anyone I have ever met before or since.

She looked really cute in the transformation sequence, when her eyes first popped up. Almost huggable.

yeah most people these days do accept it, but there are still some idiots.

Must be nice for ponies, just being able to walk up and ask your goddesses, "Hey, hwo was the world made?"

I wonder what the detailed listings of tax payments were a metaphor for.
