FUCKING AWESOME. Definitely one of the best episodes, if not the absolute best. Blows both other 2 parters out of the water, imo. I watched this thing at a brony meetup, and we were all psyched as hell. I mean, seriously, I was BLOWN AWAY. Just... HOLY SHIT THIS IS GREAT. It is the BEST. POSSIBLE. THING. And I don't think I'm overstating this.

Well this episode was twice as long. Thus finished half an hour later with double the content leading to an expected four and a half hours all together. So only one and a half hours extra really.

Actually, I DON'T think that the threat against Canterlot was a ploy by the Queen. I think the whole scheme with the wedding was one massive case of Xanatos Speed Chess by the queen to get rid of the shield in a way that was both subtle AND would give her an impressive power boost.

I think she was inside the shield when it was cast and was cut off from her subjects (I think her subjects were on the way and didn't have any knowledge of the shield, and she ouldn't contact them to warn them). She found Shining Armour and discovered that he was both the caster of the shield, and was in love with Cadance. She trapped Cadance and stole her place and planned everything from there.

I think she planned the whole marriage to be done at around the same time her love draining would cause the shield would drop, letting in her people and putting her in a prime location to take at least one of the princesses off guard.

Yeah, the thing is that I wrote and entire essay discussing the appearance of Eros in Shakespeare's sonnets and how this lust led to the poet's downfall and compared it to Paradise Lost's adherence that Love of God is the most important form of love, as Eros also leads to Adam and Eve's downfall.

Oh yes...yes indeed.

@ginger: I assumed something like this as well. It doesn't make much sense for her to have let Canterlot know there was a threat coming, since having that shield up doesn't help her in any way. Maybe Celestia had been keeping an eye on the changelings and saw that they were mobilizing for something.

Hi everyone, I managed to watch the episode the day it aired for once. It was funny, dramatic, and had nice music. The only thing that bothered me was the general "Love conquers all" theme at the end. It made me feel like I was watching a Valentine's Day special.

Am I the only one seeing little similarities between the finale and Lords and Ladies? All Cadence needed was some badass armor.

Alright so the next season premiere, you guys thinking Discord comes back then, or will they put him in the middle to sort of make things interesting because thus far the really hard villains only appear in the beginning or end of the season.

Well, the VA is coming back, so it would make sense for Discord to come back. Although he could, of course, just be voicing another damned character...

Do we know who voiced the Changeling Queen yet? I'm guessing Tabitha.

@Crow I don't think Celestia knew specifically that they were changelings, otherwise I think she'd be more wary of her subjects (and would've listened to Twi's complaints against Cadance a lot more)

Plus, SA said that the threat was unknown. Maybe they heard news of an unidentified force heading for Canterlot
