EOH, way I see it they act as an amplifier artifact but it is power by The Power of Love, just it works off all love, not just romantic, but also the love between freinds.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I didn't remember there was a trope for that.

Also, the ending was so anticlimatic! Power of Love > BOOM! > Game Over. Changelings were defeated in what, five seconds?
