I'm going to assume Cadence's power isn't forcing love on people love potion style, but enhances feelings that are already there. Otherwise it feels a bit weird.

That makes sense. And it would explain why Twilight and the CMC don't count.

So, Hasbro continues to be right in that Queens are evil and Princesses are good.

@ Ginger: I can get behind her getting the drop on Luna and beating her that way.

If Luna and Celestia fought against The Queen together though I'm sure they'd have won.

The only flaw this episode has was the defeat of the villan was a bit, 'suddenly, super love laser activate!'. But a small flaw in an epic episode makes little diffrece.

Random person: Wait, I thought you said you had to leave the thread.

@ Crow, yeah that's what I figure, she just brings the love that ponies already feel to the surface, not create love.

Well, The Changeling's powers seem to be largely mental. It wouldn't surprise me if she had some empathetic powers. Keep the 'host' from discovering the 'parasites' presence, sort of thing.

I'm with Story; Cadenza's power is to restore broken love, not make it where it doesn't exist.

@Ginger: I don't think it was, at all. There was a totally valid in-story reason why she was overpowered. And the fact that she stepped up to protect her people was just icing on the cake.

Also, how the bells did Cadence manage to turn Twilight's friends and family against her? You'd think they'd have more faith in her.

She didn't let them see her being evil. To them it looked like ordinary stress, and Twilight was biased in the matter.

So we have a finale effectively focusing on wilight. The mane six functioned as secondary characters but the plot really revolved around Twilight.

Also Twilight's outburst was incredibly harsh and made without proper evidence.

It's an even better episode because it focuses on the best pony. grin

Yeah, Twilight was the only one who saw fake!Cadence being bitchy, and let's face it, the mind-control beam looked Obviously Evil, and nopony else saw it, so it made a lot more sense that they'd buy SA's explanation.

And I'm not complaining at all about the focus on Twilight. tongue

@ginger: It's just really hard to have context here. We need scale. As it stands all of the villains so far have been so powerful Celestia couldn't stand against them, but... because of that we've never actually seen her do anything. It's an unfortunate Law Of Observation failure.

Well, Twilight has sort of been out of the spotlight for most of the season, so it's okay that the finale focused more on her.

I'm kinda curious where Luna WAS, we saw her come through the shield to releive Tia from gaurd duty, so why was she outside the shield?

If I am going with Enlong's number, I made my post ~75 minutes after the episode started. 773/75 = 10.3 posts per minute

I think Cadence's power is just restoring love or enhancing it. It would be weird if she could force people to love her.
