@kegi since when have I cared about spoilers?

Sounds like the sort of thing that'd make me miserable. I can't stand endings that don't have even the tiniest shred of hope

I tend to stay away from most of Joss Whedon's more recent works, which probably makes me an Anathema to nerdkind.
Spooky.

Hmmmmm, should I start heating my pizza now, allowing me to finish eating before the episode airs so I can watch without distractions, or should I wait and enjoy the show WITH the pizza.

Choices, choices, choices. It's so hard to be a bachelor nerd.

What is pizza for if not for shoveling down your gullet when you're watching a TV show?

Eat the pizza now. That's easy.

Are the two parts of the finale being aired back to back?

@Ginger: Okay, well that's fair enough then. since you likely won't watch it anyways... Okay, so basically the whole 'horror movie' setup is being controlled by this foundation. They release chemicals that make the characters act in certain ways, have access to a host of monsters that the protagonists inadvertently choose from to come and kill them(The ones they end up choosing are pretty boring, just the zombies of some inbred redneck cultists). Basically the 'directors' are in control of everything. The reason for this, it happens, is because the whole thing is a ritual. The characters are sacrifices to the ancient ones, a host of primordial gods who willingly sealed themselves away on the condition that each year they receive sacrifices under specific rituals - each country has one set up, but several always fail so they've got plenty as backup. In America's case they have to bring in five youths who fit certain archetypes, have them go to the ritual grounds of their own volition and choose the method of their demise. they're then killed in a specific order to please the ancient ones. If the rituals aren't performed every year, the ancient ones basically rise up and torture the world to death. THIS year, every ritual has failed by the time America's starts(Except japan's, which fails halfway through).

However, because one of the characters is a stoner, he's immune to the effects of some of the gasses. Because of this, the ritual fails, and the ancient ones are released. There's a scene very close to the end where the ritual almost succeeds, BUT it would require one of the characters to murder the stoner in cold blood. So basically it's a matter of a severe Kick the Dog, or the end of the world. There's no real good way to end it, so the ending you get just feels like it works.

@Apple: Aw, that sucks. Oh well.

AS far as I know the two parts are being aired back-to-back. Of course I'm not gonna be able to watch the stream live because I'm voting. There's a provincial election on tuesday and we're doing the advanced voting thing because it's way less busy than going on the actual day.

Eh, I'll just wait for it. Eating pizza in front of your laptop while a cartoon streams is just too delightfully nerdy to pass up on. Lessee, if I start heating it about 10 minutes before the stream, it should be finished by the time the first episode is over.

But that's also the time where the narrative must have hit the dramatic peak. Can't have too many distractions by that time.

Eh, eff that. I'll heat just heat it up in 5 minutes, just in time for the start.

@kegi A good movie that'll probably make me misrable... unless...

What's the tone of the ending?

and wait, how is the ritual succeeding a bad thing? That would've been a good way to end the movie with some hope

Sweetie Belle is most huggable Cutie Mark Crusader

Also, I'll be plopping down in front of the telly and watching it, probably while I'm working on my Doctor Who art since I am sort of compulsed to multi-task
