They're greyish-brown. I see them as more grey, but I suppose you can take them as brown.

That's my main problem with guaging the fights in this series and enjoying them. I dislike the way Aang constantly seems to be holding back and trying not to harm his opponents. 
It makes me wonder how much of a fight the villains would put up if he went all out...
