@Lurker: I guess I can see what you mean with the improper use of Flanderization, but I don't think that really makes things better. The way you explain it it seems like a trait the writers will just pull out when they need Twilight to do something funny then put it away when she doesn't. However they seem to have taken steps to integrate it into her personality more, though I think that may be a sign of possible future Flandesization, but who knows.
Nerds like Mousa apparently.
He is a ponified character from Dragon Age: Origins. Sten.

I still love how I'm the only person who's opinions on characters hasn't changed at ALL from my first impressions of them.

I'm guessing Sten from Dragon Age.
I loved them from the get go. However I didn't watch the episodes in order so I thought Rarity was the snob. Dead wrong.

@ginger My general view on them hasn't changed. Some specifics have changed, though.
Honestly the way I see it Pinki and Twi's flaws are played for laughs while Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rarity's flaws are actively worked on. Rainbow Dash's flaws on the the other hand seem to never be brought up at all and never treated in either light.

Well my onions definitely changed considering originally I thought Twilight was boring, RD and AJ were rather cool, and Pinkie was annoying as sin. I disliked Rarity from the beginning only it's increased over time with her building personality traits.
Well in my first watching I wasn't expecting character depth, lol.

@Kyler It just makes me feel like I'm missing SO much when people say "this episode made me love this character. this episode made me hate that character" and yet it doesn't do ANYTHING to me
@Mousa So what do you think of AJ now?

@Mio We had this exact discussion already before, so I'm not going to go back and find my list of evidence of it not being inconsistent or random. We're probably just going to have to agree to disagree on this point.

See Ginger, this is why you need to learn to be more cynical and judgemental of these pastel equines.
Rainbow Dash's flaws on the the other hand seem to never be brought up at all and never treated in either light.
What.
Very well. Ultimately I think my opinion really boils down to "they are developing her in a way that I don't like" anyway, so take that for what you will.
My opinions have mostly stayed the same with the exception of me growing to like Applejack and Rainbow Dash more over time whereas I initially hated both of them.
It is exactly as I said. Her flaws (namely her arrogance) are neither played for laughs nor actually worked on.
