Yeah, what draws someone to a particular work depends almost entirely on what they like about it. Ginger and I just prioritize vastly different elements of the work.

Dude, it happens. It sucks, but it happens. Nobody dislikes you because you have different views about things. We just want you to stop acting like you're being attacked every time somebody enjoys something that you don't. That's all.

If it helps, I really enjoy romantic and gay slice-of-life stories that detail the pressures one goes through as they try to come to terms with their sexual orientation, and, at times, sexual identity. I'm not sure if there is much of a market for that though. At least everyone admits that they love a good villain. Very few admit to liking gay slice of life stories.

@isle: I have to admit I have never seen the appeal of those types of stories. There's nothing wrong with them, but I don't think I've ever read or watched one that I've particularly enjoyed.

I just liked the fact that they modded weapons to look like Pinkie Pie... so ... it was Pinkie stabbing and shooting people with mini pinkies. For one brief moment she's wielding a twilight sparkle too.

@L Mage: Yeah, that might be it. As a straight male I've never really made a big deal of my sexuality, so it kinda baffles me sometimes when people make a big deal over it. I dunno; in that regard my life has been pretty boring.

Yeah, not a typo. I've had the same kind of issues, so I really enjoy stories that discuss LGBT issues in a calm and respectful way. That's why I really liked Kegi's story a lot, it told a realistic tale of how someone goes through sexual orientation and sexual identity problems. A coming out story does not need bullies or physical obstacles to tell a gripping story. Sometimes, the biggest problems to understanding yourself come from your own mind.
