meh, Zhao is just lucky it wasn't Iroh. Cause Iroh wasn't bluffing. Meh, Zhao was more intrested in getting the fuck out of there then fighting. And it's already been shown that while Zhao is more powerful then Zuko, Zuko is more skilled. And ins't that EXACTLY what thew inverse of what you were complainging about with The Gift? Zhao is an amazingly powerful firebender naturally, but Zuko has only average raw power, but makes up for itwith hard work and determination and skill.

@ Ginger: I think that was a momentary setback for Zhao and he was just at the wrong position right then and there. But I think if the Avatar monster thingy hadn't come in, the fight would have gone on for a lot longer and Zhao would have probably won (since he was, at the very least, more experienced and less tired)

To be fair, Zuko beat Zhao once already. But in this case there's a slightly more valid reason: Zhao emphasizes his power of skill and discipline, while Zuko is forced to focus on technique by virtue of being weaker. Because it's night, they both lose power. But because Zuko never focused on sheer power, he doesn't take a hit in the same way Zhao does. So Zhao was weakened, while Zuko was still fighting at peak capacity.

anyway it's still better then Shamalama-ding-dongs bastardized atrocity, where Zhao just gets skewered by some random Water Tribe red shirts while he's running.

Yeah, I'll be honest in that I didn't really care for Zhao's defeat either. It did feel like a bit of a cop-out.

You know Ginger, in a way I think it's becoming a goal of mine to write a villain or a story you'd actually like. I still think you'd at least be okay with The Colour You Bleed, but honestly I'd like to write something I know you'd love. Hm... let's see, the genocidal lunatic witch-hunter who chases four ponies halfway across a continent, or the Evil Chancellor who plans on betraying a god and tricking a country into going to war...

we all told you you could skip most of season 1.

also, you do this to yourself. And i'm not trying to be mean, I know where your at, it took me years to be able to control the urge to only see the worst, and it's not easy, but the importent part is knowing that your doing it and actaully trying to stop, and again I'm speaking from expeireince.
