If I get tofu I buy stuff in premade dinners, trying to do tofu on my own has prettymuch just ended up in disaster.

I went vegetarian for a few months in an attempt to get off my cholesterol medication but it was a real pain in the butt making two separate meals for myself and my boyfriend.

I wish I could find somewhere that would teach me how to gut and clean a fish for eating. I live on the Chesapeake bay and theres all that free food swimming around out there...

The thing is, lithivore isn't in the dictionary. At least, not since the last time I checked. That's why I want to coin it.tongue
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

@Soarin: Hah. Clever.

Makes sense, though. I recall hearing about a professional swimmer(I wanna say Michael Phelps, but that might be the crazy bigot guy) who ingests somewhere in the range of 12, 000 calories per day. That's basically 4 or 5 people worth of eating.

@Drenius: Are you kidding? He's the one that took those pictures of me that ended up everywhere. Here's what I think of him.

@chad: Actually, people need the things in meat. Iron, Protein, etc. You can get all those from other sources.

@Orion I see clever. Oh have you played any of the Master of Orion series? The second one is a really fun game.

@Turtlebutter any cooking book that deals with filleting fish, or any fishing book that deals with cooking fish can help solve your problem. If you need a book recommendation I can give you a few.

Getting them from meat is a lot tastier though.

Tofu is just a bland mass of food like substance that you add flavorings to.

@Kegi: Actually, what people need most is the delicious taste of bacon. Mmmm, bacon. A life without meat is a poor life indeed.

@Kegi: No, you have it right. The crazy bigot is Fred Phelps.

Actually, I've never seen the big deal with bacon. Sure it's tasty, bu not delicious enough to go with everything. Especially not chewing gum.

Tofu can be pretty tasty depending on how it's prepared.

Well, yes. I enjoy eating meat as much as the next guy(hush). I'm just saying, if it came down to no meat or killing something? there's other ways to get the nutrients.

@Edd: Oh, good. Wouldn't even want to think what Fred Phelps diet is. Babies, probably.

Thank you thank you everypony. I'll be here until I'm gone. Don't forget to try the fish.

All this talk of tofu has made me hungry for this tofu dessert I had.

I remember playing PETA flash game propaganda decrying the violence in Cooking Mama. After watching the hilarioulsy over the top gore that "apparently" comes with preparing meat, the game switched over to tofu. After watching the lawer friendy cameo of Cooking Mama make a tofurky I swore I would never eat tofu. I may make an exception if I have to stop an alien invasion lead by evil tofu.

Ferrous iron from meat is far easier to absorb and utilize than the Ferric version found in grains and vegetables. Our bodies use the Ferrous form for hemoglobin production and if its already in that format we can use it more easily. (Yay for Hematology)

@Kegi but it wouldn't be as convenient or tasty. Imagine having to eat spinach and a lot of it to get the necessary iron. Lots and lots of nuts and beans for the protein.
