Romance plays a larger part in Jet than other episodes, yes. But it also introduces some important themes. And the villain is pretty enjoyable.

It comes into play big time later.
And Jet isn't really romance, sure Katarra kinda has a crush on him, but it's just kinda there, it's not a big deal, most of the episode is Sokka trying to prove that Jet isn't as awesome as she thinks he is.

Well, Star Swirl, humans are a bit more aggressive than ponies, although I chalk it up to our omnivorous nature. I'm quite certain there's at least a few ponies who are named Comet or have it in their names in general. IIRC there's a pony named Comet Catcher.

I'm just following two threads of thought. And yes, humans are omnivorous, personally I favor fish and poultry for my meat intake, although the bulk of my diet is made of rice and potatos and other vegtables/fruit. Are ponies a little more nervous around anyone that eats meat?

yes he's a natural and Water-Bending, but so is Katarra. It's not far-fetched either, 1.he's the Avatar so he has numerous past life times of doing this rattling around in his spirit. 2. It's only Water he gets this quick, he has major problems learning Earthbending and is just average at Firebending by the ending, which in itself is justified since Air and Water are the two most similar bending disciplines.

Right now Aang's coasting by on natural talent. But it's shown later on that when he's put in a teaching environment he's far outpaced by someone who is more willing to train than him.

Well, the fact that you don't normally eat equines is a relief. I can't really blame other ponies for getting scared of being eaten. But look at the oppertunities for study that such species provide us with! I'd love to learn more about the magic of a dragon, timber wolf, Ursa, human or any other creature!

Well, look on the bright side: Katara hardly has any natural talent in Waterbending at all, she has to learn it all the old fashioned way(Real-life fighting experience is a damn good teacher).
