The funniest part is that spells in Harry Potter have lower velocity than bullets and are still limited by casting startup. Before they finish their first syllable, they'd be getting fragmenting Varmint Grenades in the center-of-mass.

Pony magic is noncombat, and anyways I wouldn't piss off a bunch of pegasi who can build up a landscape-changing megastorm and drop it on my head.

Muggles are inferior is the exact opposite message that Rowling wanted.

Of course, I have a preferance for a world constructed with the assumption that everyone has known about magic from the beggining.

The only reason that muggles have a chance is because the wizards are not munchkins. A competent wizard would wipe the floor with muggles at level 1.

@Kyler: Bottomless or Self-Replenishing enchant for magazines, one for FMJ, one for JHP, one for replicating enchanted fragmenting ammo with some kind of disrupting spell, one for nonlethal material ammo with Contact Stunning enchants (for nonlethal takedowns). The gun itself can be enchanted for Steady Aiming, with the barrel enchanted to stabilise the bullet for superior accuracy and the sights enchanted for improved sniping. Enchant the feed mechanism for anti-jamming. Hey, you can enchant individual gun components before assembly, so cheatyface as much as you can. Victory goes to the cheatyfaciest.
