Good night Applelight.
The Element of Procrastination
@ stevebat: I'm liking this avatar.
Pronounced "Sid-zellia"
Fools! You've overestimated me!
How about works that play fantasy realistically?
If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
Goodnight Apple.
Cool avatar, stevebat.

Gully Foyle is my name,
and Terra is my nation.
Deep space is my dwelling place,
and death's my destination.
I want realistic characters. The plot can be whatever the hell it wants to be. Which is why books like Twilight annoy me so much. There's a chance for a good plot there, but the characters are so awful that the story is ruined.
Goodbye for now crowlover and J Teeth ^^

The Element of Procrastination
Unfortunately I don't have a source for that image. But it is awesome.
@Mage because one of my favourite tropes is
Hard Work Does Work. (or whatever it's real name is)
10 mooks don't deserve to beat a swordsman who's fought his entire life. In ASOIAF. One man surrounded by 20 soldiers equals death for him. I've never liked Numbers besting skill.
Also, I can't stand
Combat Pragmatism. It strikes me as highly unsatisfying
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
Rainbow: But Tyrantlestia and Scootabuse aren't really believable memes. They're more or less asspulls based on WMGs.
I remember you being okay with Combat Pragmatism if it is between people of equal skill.
Tealove is best pony.
Pony Fanon Index
@Mage but I dislike shonen too, two of my most hated tropes are
Couldnt Catch Up and
The Gift
@Bad even then, I'd rather
Heroic Resolve be the determining factor

That's one of the biggest things that annoyed me about it to. I read it for the plot ... and then there wasn't one.

Anyway, that's why
Luminosity was great. It takes the same setting as Twilight, but it actually tells an interesting story.
