Hmm, female chivalry? No idea how that might be presented. tongue

Hold on, I thought chivalry was kind of a... "sexist" concept, for lack of a better term? Like the kind of thing that doesn't have an opposite-gender equivalent?

[up]Chivalry means "acting like a knight should" in formal situations and "treating women as special" in informal situations.

So chivalrey would mean "treating men as special" in informal situations (and "acting like a female knight should" in formal situations).

EDI: "Treating as special" being effectively pampering here.

Indeed. Chivalry also means protecting the weak and vulnerable.

[up][up]In the formal sense, yes.

Now let's work "chivalrey" into conversations.cool

EDIT: [up]Basically pampering, sheilding from harm, never letting them overexert themselves, that sort of thing.

Regarding why Quirrel is also much more competent in Mo R: There are actualyl a bunch of characters that got upgraded. It's not a strict signle point of departure. As pointed out in one of the bonus sections, the plot of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone would be solved in minutes if only Harry changed.

[up]I must admit that Methods of Rationality causes me to hesitate. I like the general concept but so much of what I hear about both it and the author makes me anoyed.

Also, storyyeller, you wanted to know why so many were creating their own RPG. In my case, i've had the dea for ages and I don't think that anyone else is doing it the way I am. Speaking of which, this is what it currently looks like. Guesss that I'll start with character creation next.

Hello everypony. What are you guys talking about this time?
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

Methods of Rationality is wierd. I never really got into it, because hypercompetency in everyone becomes unrealistic.

Hi Orion. I posted some things.

Mo R is still awesome though. It even has a subplot based on Ender's Game.

Anyway, I feel sorry for Amelia Bones. She's smarter and more Genre Savvy then canon, but since she's missing important information, she keeps coming to the wrong conclusions anyway.

Yes, we have chivalry, but we call it under a different name. It's called, "not dying from wendigos."

No, not chivalry, chivalrey. See the past couple of pages for the diffinition.

EDIT: In fact, just higher on this page.

Most humans are really chivalrous by that standard.

We just treat everyone like how a pony should. Gender doesn't play much of a role.

Have ponies ever canonically talked about chivalry?

@Orion Don't worry about it. We have a tendency to overanalyze every detail about Equestria including, at the moment, gender roles.

[up][up]No, but you can bet that Rarity thinks about it all the time.
