If Equestria had Internet, no doubt Twi would spend her noble money on getting superior pipelines. I'm sure she'd even pay to lay cables all the way to Ponyville to knock her ping down as low as possible

@Ilse: That sucks. I guess I lucked out that my school didn't have a data limit. They would only get mad if you used up too much bandwidth in a really short period.

My school has horrendous internet. It's supposed to get better soon because of the Cook Children's hospital that always donates to it putting a stipulation on their donation this year: The money has to go to improving the school's internet connection. We're using a residential connection for ~600 students, plus faculty. Then the filters block most websites, including some that would be useful for actual work. I used to use an SSH tunnel to get around the filters, but the firewalls now close off non-http/s ports.

My school's internet is awesome. I can watch HD videos on Youtube with little or no lag. Also, everyone gets their own IP address.
