Definitely, Ginger. It's just that Magic Skills need their own sub-catagory due to interactions with other abilities and the fact that there are going to be a lot of them.

What I wrote last night was just a rough draft. Things should a lot clearer when its done.

@lurker So... there'll be skills that only E Ps can learn?

also, how many points do you start with to create your character? and how many do E Ps get extra?

Would a character specialising in Intelligence and Charisma be able to function?

Lurker: Ginger raises a good point, is character creation going to be a point buy or dice roll mechanic?

I don't see why not. They'd be good in social combat or social situations.

@Ginger: my own method of balance is that Unicorns and Pegasi have to invest skill points in their Racial Abilities if they ever want those abilities to be useful (Thus explaining why there are pegasi terrible at flight and unicorns who have poor spellcasting talent), whereas all those delicious skillpoints are freed up for Earth Ponies with their racial passive bonuses to invest in everything else.

Right now, Orion is out. I had to get him off the computer because you guys were talking about clop fics.

Apparently, Orion became Daring Do when he got the internet and found some, as he put it, "interesting clop fics."

Id do an RP, if it was ponies and not elves

Only RP I was able to get into was Werewolf, and as soon as I bought the books to play with my friends they decided to do Vampire. Vampire was hella boring cuz all it is is angsty bloodsuckers.

@Ace That's exactly what I' planning on. Unicorns and Pegasi are only granted Basic Flight/Telekinesis to start with, which isn't that great.

@Ginger Yes, Earth Ponies will have exclusive abilities. It's just that their skils aren't something that they just start out knowing how to do. You don't see Pinkie Pie capable of pulling a house or growing a plant just because she's an Earth Pony. They do start out stronger stat wise, though so their lack of immediate utility is balanced there.
