Reason Silver Spoon is not in the episode is because she knew beforehand that Diamond Tiara was chosen to be the head of the school newspaper and knows that DT becomes megalomanical and even MORE bitchy when put in a leadership position and doesn't want anything to do with her just for that. She spent most of that time hanging out with Twist.

Glasses are cooler than tiaras and bows. Which is why DT is friends with Silverspoon and why Appleblom was, momentarily before abandoning her, friends with Twist.

Tiaras are better than bows though.
