I always questioned that. How? I mean, Spike was hatched and raised by Twilight not Celestia. Unless we count Celestia keeping the egg safe as "raising".

@Delvarian Word Of God says that Spike was originally raised by Celestia, then transferred to Twi's care when she was more prepared...

Faust said she envisioned Celestia raising Spike. It also mentions her teaching him the fire mailing trick.

I took it to mean that Celestia and Twi more or less raised Spike together. Celestia had Twi look after Spike as a lesson of sorts, but she was ultimately the one in charge since Twi can always defer to her whenever she needs support or something.

Faust said it after she finished working on the show and that it was just her opinion.

No reason that makes it canonical, I prefer Twilight raising Spike.

I think it's more like a stenography typewritter. It makes more sense and it's a lot more efficient.

Me neither, but it makes a lot more sense then anything else. Especially considering their apparent typing speed. Though that does raise the question of how they got so much training with typewriting.
