@Ginger: Dragon fire I guess? Spike is considerably less gross than a fly, so I think the transformation wouldn't be quite as horrible as the movie. You'd think they could get Celestia to fix them up or something.

One last positive thing about this scenario... I don't think Twi would go insane like Brundle did... a dragon mind isn't TOO different from a pony mind, so we wouldn't have a "There are no insect politicians" type scenario I don't think
