So I've been thinking, we know a few things about the entity responsible for the Nightmare Moon events, right?

It's capable of possessing individuals and/or amplifying their hate.
It can overshadow goddesses, but is susceptible to a virtue-fueled attack.
It has absolute certainty in its own right to rule, even if that means directly or indirectly killing all its would-be subjects.
It can ensure its return even 1, 000 years after being defeated.

Based on these facts, I think we can narrow down what it is. So far, my list of suspects is...

Emperor Palpatine
Vriska Serket
Ganon

I just watched Green isn't your color in the way our little pink pony friend was acting it was clearly foreshadowing Party of One. I still haven't seen that episode or the owl episode.

I prefer about that thing what created NM to be something not person, some corruping evil force, Dark Side. It's more interesting that some Ganon possesing people.

I have teory that Elemnts of Harmony sucked that evil force from Luna and transfer it to Mane Cast, all crazy stuff with main ponies was because groing infuence of that force.

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.
