Well, the show itself is clearly written well enough to attract a fandom beyond the primary demographic (and then some!), the sheer volume of detail, !Science!, and !Continuity! boggles the mind, the characters are actually endearing enough to bring out my inner cuddlebug, confound it

, and the movement was notable enough to spawn entire actual newspaper articles describing the fan movement in positive or neutral fashion. Therefore it is good.

@Ginger: Twi can take pianos and falling furniture and heal between scenes. Dashie can break her wings and recover in days. Ponies are tough, a measly tree isn't going to keep Fluttershy down for more than a day.

I didn't notice my hypocrisy until you all pointed it out.

I think there's more of a stigma against musicals though. It's usually seen as a "gay" thing for some reason.
