[up][up][up] Interesting idea.

But I think that their real intentions was to eat them.

What's this? An activity spike at 5:40 in the morning? Now that's unsual!

Back in the office. Nose hurts. Still wondering why EQD can be blocked one moment and then be accessable another time.

Meh.

What can we do? What can we do to increase the thread's activity?

Choose your topic:
  • The moral of Feeling Pinkie Keen
  • Was Rarity justified in stealing candy from a baby?
  • Pony humanizations/sex
  • Why Earth ponies are inferior
  • Should the show have a Complete Monster?

- It's pro science but anti sceptic - deal with it.

- No, blocking sun, destroying schools, crushing dreams is OK, but stealing candy from baby is just wrong.

- Ew

- Key word "Earth" in name

- It need more CM, not only ultra evil character but ultra powerful like Reapers or Daleks.

Hi Syd. I'm glad to know you're feeling better. We miss having you around.

Anyways, I'm off to violin making school for another eight hours of correcting the mistakes I made yesterday.

Sorry I basically disappeared there. For some reason my internet simply STOPPED WORKING for two whole hours. Oh well.

Addendum to previous review: I will say I got an honest chuckle out of when Twi said "There's only one thing left, we have to STOP TIME!" Nothing brightens my day like out-of-left-field logic.

While I can see wanting to see more of Equestria's depths, the problem I've had is that a lot of times when we see them, it turns out what's there isn't really interesting. Like these dragons—so they basically act like white American teenagers? Exotic fantasy creatures shouldn't be that straightforward, methinks. Actually, I liked them better when I thought they were basically animals that just happen to be able to talk. I've said before that I dislike making every other species in Equestria just as evolved as the ponies. You can't have five species on the same rung of the evolutionary ladder and only one of them is the dominant species.

At least, IMO.

It's because negativity (like saying that some thing suck) will provoke more negative response that positiveness (like saying that some thing rocks).

Yeah I know, I was just splitting hairs earlier. I post opinion-as-fact out of habit—years of arguing on the internet does that.

[up] Personally, I prefered Twi's freakout in IAT than in LZ.

because it was both less manic, less awkward, and more justifiable

Twi's obssessive control only comes to the forefront when she's very stressed anyways.

Hey guys! I saw this fic on EQD. Its a Daring DO/Indiana Jones crossover, and It looks good. I'm reading it now.

As for Twi freakouts, I preferred Lesson zero's freakout, simply because its funnier to me. Its the main thing I base my opinion of cartoons on it seems. (If the cartoon isn't meant to be funny I may still enjoy it, but Humour is far more likely to entertain me.)

I thought her freakout in About Time was funnier.

I gotta admit, it was cute that when Twi met her future self, the first thing she did was started joking about how time travel was scientifically impossible.

It wasn't an awful episode per se, just felt a little too much like "been there, done that." Also could've done with less blatant scene-stealing from Pinkie Pie (as I said a million pages ago, I feel like they're trying to push her in our face lately).

[up] I think the reason for that is that Cloud Cuckoo Lander characters are just a lot of fun to write for. I don't think the writers have overdone it yet but AJ and Flutters having more episodes woludn't go amiss.

I've been in touch with Applelight. He misses you guys and hopes to be back soon.

What happened to Applelight? He doesn't really seem the sort to get banned...

@Moe Dantes: I'm in complete agreement with you that we shouldn't have to specifically mention that our posts are just an opinion, since that goes without saying.

Personally, I thought I was going to hate Dragon Quest since I'm not really a fan of Spike but I ended up loving it, partially because it was funny, partially because the metal soundtrack took me completely by surprise and kept me entertained throughout the episode, but mostly because of the worldbuilding.

I've been a big fantasy fan all my life, but the problem with fantasy is that most of it's settings are very lazy. Everything tends to adhere to your basic standard fantasy tropes: Medieval Stasis, Elves/Dwarves/Humans, battle of good and evil, chosen one, old wise wizards, magic swords, you know, the usual. So it always intrigues me when a fantasy work branches out and does something actually original with the concept. And MLP is one of the most original fantasy settings I've ever come across. I mean it's main race are sentient ponies. So any episode that features world building is going to be of interest to me.

EDIT: I liked It's About Time waaaaaaaay better than Lesson Zero, which was one of my least favorite episodes. Could have used less Pinkie though.

I don't know, I think that Pinkie's been way more subdued these past few episodes. The closest they've gotten to "shoving her in our faces" was It's About Time, and it's kinda hard to steal the scene from sleep-deprived Twilight.

If by "past few episodes", you mean pretty much the current season.

^ That's actually pretty amusing.

I don't have a problem with her presence—I usually like Pinkie—it's just the way they've been using her is all wrong.

Like, look at an episode like "Green Isn't Your Color." She's being her normal kooky self, but she fits in naturally and flowed with the scenes. "It's About Time" though literally just stopped the episode a couple of times so she could perform a few routines (slowly walking to the center of the screen then yelling "Everypony PANIC!", the Madame Pinkie bit, etc.) and then resumed when it was done, and the effect was rather jarring.
