I think there are a lot of reasons why Rainbow Dash is not yet in the show. For one, she has speed but is kind of clumsy. For another, she's probably still a little too young to join. And even if the Wonderbolts do want her (and I don't see why they wouldn't other than her lack of control) it would take a long time to file the paperwork and do all of that. It's also possible that Rainbow is just in a waiting list while she waits for a spot to open up for her.

@Chadaman: I'd go with the Spitfire one.

I would say Spitfire, if only so I could nab the Rarity one myself, but yeah, go with Spitfire. Seemed to be a bit higher quality, as well.

I wouldn't mind a Wonderbolts episode. A more in depth explanation of their founding, roles, and what not.

Interesting how Diamond Tiara have some role other than being bitch.

This episode made me think that while I have a lot in common with the way Fluttershy had issues with being laughed at, unlike her, I tend to prefer being the one on stage to being in the crowd. Probably because it has something to do with the level of control I feel like I have over the social interactions involved (when you're performing, the audience is expected to be quiet and listen to you, but that's definitely not guaranteed with regular socializing) and also because hearing other people's conversations often bothers and/or distracts me (I have issues with ambient noise in general, aside from stuff I'm controlling like my music or watching a video). It's not that I think my opinions are automatically superior to everyone elses' or think that I'm the only one who deserves to be on stage, it's more that one-on-one conversations are easier for me to handle than trying to socialize in a big group.

However, I can't imagine I would feel very confident about my own flying ability and would hate to be a pegasus in this story because I don't like trying to live up to other people's expectations of physical ability. Which is especially why I identified with Fluttershy here.
