Why would anyone ever CONSCIOUSLY write an incompetent antagonist. It blows my mind

@gingerninja, As people find it funny. Simple as.
The internet is the realm of chaos, but not all chaos is evil.

becuase Blueblood isn't a villain in this, he's just a jerk, and a buffoon and he only actually shows up in the last chapter. Again, it's a comedy, though he does seem to be getting some
Character Development in Season 2.
Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.
That's no excuse.
competence =/= unfunny

Actually, Looking at how the story is going, I looks like the villains are going to be
Luna, Trixie and Blueblood. It should be interesting.

Sorry Gingy, but I like an incompetent villain. There is a humour there which you can't get with competence. I'd would say that incompetence only works in a comedy though.

Ginger, we get it. You don't think incompetence is likable. Now let the rest of us have our fun, m'kay?
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
fine!
I don't get it...

But incompetence (or, for more dramatic and less comedic and extreme examples, making mistakes and being fallible) doesn't make a bad story either.
I'm fine with a villain being outplayed or outfoxed in the climax, because otherwise, he'd just
win.

I have a message from another time...
A completely 100% competent villain can edge closely to
Villain Sue.

"Prefers" is putting it mildly.

Well yeah, I don't want a villain that's stupid,
or one who's so absurdly powerful and competent that his defeat is nearly impossible to comprehend with the way the story has set itself up.
I like powerful villains whose plans are far-reaching and hard to escape, but who
can be overcome with a herculean effort on the part of the heroes. For an example, Father from
Fullmetal Alchemist made one of the best villains I've ever seen.
I have a message from another time...
I used to read the Vinyl Scatch Tapes. I stopped after the first set.
Tealove is best pony.
Pony Fanon Index
Ginger might like my war fic then, if he likes confident villains.
Then again earth ponies haven't done anything awesome so far, so maybe not. :P I do intend to make Big Macintosh a main character, though.

Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
but they're not a good ANTAGONIST.
Antagonists serve as obstacles for the protagonist to overcome, if they don't do that job well, then they ain't a good antagonist.
Tht's how I've always seen it
@Enlong that's all I want too

@ Pannic which is a pointless argument when talking bout something like The Vinyl Scratch, which is just some light hearted comedy with no real conflict until the very end, and even that was pretty light and funny.
And I agree with a few points, incompetent antagonists can be funny and entertaining, but they only work when played for laughs, if we;re supposed to take the incompetent buffoon seriously, it falls apart.
Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.
