My reaction was more one of abject horror.

Which is a good thing for a villain to evoke. Dahlia is like, my favorite villain in the whole series, do not misunderstand me.

The ending of that case was, I think, the most horrifyingly evil thing I've seen anyone do in that series, rivaled, perhaps, only by what Manfred did to Edgeworth. That went a long way into making the very suggestion of her presence such a scary thing in the final case.

@Red Yeah, but generally, they lose because you find something out and duel them in court about it. With Dhalia, she'd lost from the moment she entered the courtroom

I kind of had a mix of wonderment, awe, AND terror. I think FF 6 is the only other game that's triggered such a reaction from me

Not entirely. there was the matter of proving that it wasn't Maya who killed Misty. No matter who Dahlia was possessing, that point would remain.

Ok. but there was no way for her to win, unless she somehow got Maya found guilty then realized that she was in Maya's body and left it for the cops

I think she may have counted that a win. Scarring Maya for life, (and having her imprisoned for life, most likely) branding Phoenix a failure, and slipping out of Mia's grasp for the last time would have made a nice feather in her cap when she hopped off back to Hell or whatever.

I honestly don't remember Dahlia's theme at all, and looking it up, I can't say I like it that much.

I only looked up the in-game version. I'm sure it sounds better in the various orchestrated albums they made.

I liked Dahlia's theme. And her Cutie Mark would totally be butterflies. For one thing they have hypnotism in FIM.

Exactly like Fluttershy she seems nice, then she goes crazy at the gala and eats a squirrel.
