Blueblood is actually in a relationship with his bodyguard, and just annoyed the shit out of Rarity so he wouldn't have to actually turn her down and reveal himself/break her heart.

@Crow: Oh, gods no. Different continuities - this would be one where Blueblood isn't an arsehole, and doesn't have a murderously insane guard. I think of it as my 'random shipping' continuity.

And yes, most of my fics do happen within the same 'universe'. I try to drop hints about it whenever I can.
