Well, she can fly fast enough to keep up with Dashie in at least three sequences this season (both handicapped, chase scene in Return of Harmony II; chase scene, trainjumping in The Last Roundup; rescue scene, matching Dashie to catch Rarity and Spike in Secret of My Excess), plus her natural flight instinct tends towards a slower graceful style (Flashback scene, when she got her Cutie Mark in Season One), so it's more that her flight style does not usually emphasise power.

She'll break the 10 mark when roused sufficiently I should think.

I just noticed, the weaker cast members (and Twi) tend to get all the flashy moments whiile AJ and RD get Worfed almost all the time XD

Does the Worf Effect really apply in a show like this?

If so, what about the "Failsafe Spell"? That was pretty classic Worf Effect; her spell failed entirely, just to show case how powerful Discord's magic was.

AJ is the physically toughest and strongest of the Mane Six, only she overexerts herself and get KO'd by exhaustion. Dashie is pretty awesome, but she still has a lot to learn and doesn't really use enough discretion (the better part of valor, lol)

AJ was worfed in SSCS 6 K. She didn't stand a chance until Twi and the others stepped in, and if their increased output is any indication, they didn't need the Apple's help to win

@Ginger: That was more the family as a whole. AJ had no problems bucking enough apples; the problem was that Apple Bloom couldn't collect them fast enough, and Granny Smith is so slow at sorting them that it created a bottleneck.

Probably because AJ had already been hustling for an hour while Fluttershy was coming in fresh. And that said, we didn't really see enough of either of them to make a good comparison. We saw Fluttershy harvest maybe one tree. Says nothing at all about their comparative rates.

Also, can we not start yet another one of these "AJ is always overshadowed" arguments? They always end the same way, and it's kinda pointless to have to defend AJ to the guy who probably likes her more than anybody else.

The whole mane cast + Apple family got worfed by Flim and Flam, not just AJ. Besides, the Worf Effect is only for showing how one character is better than another in some area. The only other instances of it I can think of in this show is RD vs Little Strongheart, Twilight vs Discord's chaos in the beginning of Return of Harmony, and (ironicly) Discord's tactics vs Fluttershy's kindness. Simply messing up isn't grounds for a Worf, they have to have an established strength outdone by another character.

Anyway, I don't think FS will get it past ten, but it'll probably be shown that this dosn't matter.

I don't even think she needs to be that strong to get the job done.

RD just wants everypony that strong so they can beat some record (at least that is what I remember from the clip).
