No, think about it: Rocky and his gang tried to turn Pinkie against her friends. Why? For revenge against all of Rocky's brothers and sisters who Pinkie used to move around back when she lived on the rock farm.

And, after Dash drags Pinkie away from the tea party, we never see Rocky or his friends again, do we? WHERE ARE THEY? WHAT ARE THEY PLANNING?

EDIT: You can't kill a rock! It's like with the Weeping Angels! ONLY WITH ROCKS.

I think Pinkamina would actually make a great villain if done right. Like a kind of Dr Jekkyl, Mr Hyde sort of thing. Where Pinkie's two persona's start to grow further and further apart personality wise, until they become seperate entities inside her body.

Do we know it's a corruptive outside force?

And regardless, it's made pretty clear that Luna's bitterness was at least half the root source of the Imperishable Nightmare Moon incident. More than anything, that is what I'd like addressed in the show.

But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...

I'm kind of in the "Luna was corrupted by an outside force" camp, myself. However, looking at that screen cap "evil magic" could have been something she cast on herself to augment herself into Nightmare Moon.

I'm of the: "She was corrupted so that her negative emotions were accentuated, but she was still ultimately in control" camp. Feels a bit cheap if all that conflict was caused entirely by a 3rd party

What if, TECHNICALLY, Celestia wasn't the ruler of Equestria? It was an honour that she shared with her sister, aswell as all the other Princes and Princesses. They only allow her to call most all the shots beause she's the oldest, smartest, and most powerful, when in actuality they have just as much of a say in Pony politics as she does.

Maybe something happened in Equestria long ago, and the Royal family vowed to never formally have a Queen ever again.

Perhaps this was the result of "The Quest of the Princess Ponies", back in Generation 1. The Generation 3 cartoons seem to suggest this too, that princesses may garner plenty of respect and practice the most powerful magic available, but they don't do very much actual decision-making.

I'm kind of in between those two camps myself. Whatever was "corrupting" Luna (quite possibly the blue mist), I've always liked to think of it like the alien suit from Spider-Man. It amplifies the host's abilities, but it also is able to influence their emotional state and it wants nothing more than to permanently bond with someone powerful. Plus that could totally lead to a Venom-style arc involving Trixie.

I also like to think that it was Luna that originally sought it out/created it, however.

I'm going with my idea that it was Celestia who sent the evil spirit to luna, to see if she would accept it into her soul, as a Test of Character. If she rejected it's offer of power, then she would be a good person, and Celestia could stop worrying about her sister. If she accepted it, then it would make her wholly evil , and thus easier on Celestia's heart to lock away inside the moon.

from the colour drawing I'm hoping to have done and posted tomorrow. Technically is OC-like stuff for another scene for that coup RP that went on, but Lunar's representation is still the same, so you get to see a corrupt stallion Fluttershy if you click through.
