Really, I can't fault them for following him; Dragons don't really have the best reputation, and Spike is really just a kid. I mean, they had good reason to be worried about him.

Totally agreed, they acted alot like family there.

I think I just realized why the dragons were all such jerks. Spike went to the Chromatic Dragon migration. Should have waited for the Metallic Dragon migration.

I just wish they hadn't been untrusting and sly like that sad... I know I can't fault them for it, but it still left me feeling a little bitter

@Ginger: It's a sticky issue, but when you're legitimately worried about someone's well-being, you don't just let them walk into a dangerous situation. I think Twi wanted to do the best of both worlds. She couldn't say no to Spike because she realized how much his identity crisis was affecting him, but she couldn't let him go alone either given how dangerous it was. Her solution allowed Spike to go on his journey of self discovery without being in too much danger.

Did Spike say that he had to go by himself? Couldn't they have asked if they could join him?

By the way, is the BGM during Spike's quest a reference to anything?

I see it as - you wouldnt let your grade school aged brother go to meet up with some people who you know very little about all by himself. Especially if the little you do know about them is that they have a bad reputation.

[up][up][up]yeah They acted a lot like their mothers more than friends. They are not just friends but a bit like a family.

As much as you trust someone you are never to abandon him, that was very sweet imo as it shows they care for himwaii

@Story I don't know, but that BGM was just awesome. The heavy metal with the dragons was pretty cool too.

@Ginger: It's a dragon migration; they probably assumed that the other dragons would oust Spike if a bunch of ponies tagged along.

@Emidawg: Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

[up][up][up] I mean they could've accompanied Spike in that dragon suit. The only difference would be them ASKING Spike if they could do so first

@storyyeller: Yeah, unintentional Freeze Frame Bonus...come to think of it, "unintentional Freeze Frame Bonus" describes a LOT of screenshots from this show.

@Applelight: Here (it's more of a trailer than a clip).

Also, even if Twilight hadn't wanted to follow Spike, she'd probably still have been obligated to in case Celestia sent something important, like a message telling Spike to please te

If they asked him and he said no it would have made it all the worse if they had gotten caught following him.

It may have also changed his outlook on the whole thing. Going "by himself" gave him a sense of empowerment, if they had asked to accompany him it might have made him more self concious.

As it was he seemed relieved and even greatful that they were there when the situation went bad.
