It's funny, I love the mash-up videos, but I still haven't actually watched the show. Maybe there's a line I can't cross; more likely I just haven't bothered.

That was all I watched for a while, too, but then I just had to watch the show from the beginning to see what all that "Nightmare Moon" stuff was about!

While polarizing, Trixie or Nightmare Moon fit the bill for Gruntilda best. Trixie gets extra points for having the hat, but loses some for already looking like a normal pony. Twilight would have to be Bottles, and Mumbo... Zecora. Obviously.

Banjo's sister would have to be Applebloom.

so does that mean that season 2 will be even more Slice of Life centric now that she isn't heading up the show anymore?

Unlikely. The decision to make it slice-of-life was made a long time ago. And considering that they've already stated that season 2 will have a villain, I doubt it.

Yeah, that was Faust. I don't think you can say the show will get more slice of life now, since other than the pilot it was pretty much all slice of life. Besides, she may have left, but she was still there for the script writing process for season 2, so if she tried for more villains this season they'll still be there.
