Maybe it's actually a 3-parter; the cake gets ruined in the 3rd to last episode and they spend the other two episodes trying to fix the problem they caused, and only end up making it worse.

@Pannic - might not be his fault. Ever seen Bridezillas? He could have been trying to tell Cadence all along but she was so wrapped up in planning her wedding that she totally ignored him

It makes for an amusing montage in my head of Pony wedding planners...

So, are they going to explain why there's suddenly a new Alicorn, or are they just going to ignore it and act like ti's completely natural, or just a sly lampshade hanging acknowledging the oddness but not explaining it.

The last option, most likely. They don't need to devote a scene to explaining that, so they'll probably get a throwaway line about how she's from a neighboring kingdom or a distant cousin or something.

Or better yet, SA goes crazy trying to give Cadence the perfect wedding, makes things worse every step of the way, but ultimately she doesn't care that much about the trappings.
