Sockpuppets are best when they invoke an
Animated Actors feel, to me - or basically, when their in-characterness is a little on the flexible side, and they don't take themselves too seriously. "Internet connection to Equestria" would annoy me a little bit too, I think, but using the sockpuppets in the
Mahou Sensei Negima! thread as an example... the sockpuppets there don't really exist in any specific point in the storyline. They comment on events if we bring them up, but that's about it.
I'm a college student! I don't have time for this!
They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.
I'm suddenly hoping that some of the villains in season 2 are anthropomorphic representations of the seasons. Celestia had to seal them away because they were always fighting; perhaps in the season finale, old man winter could break out of his prison and assault Equestria? I'm seeing them as Ursa Major sized beings composed of ice or dirt or leaves or roots or something. Opinions?

Also Four Apocalypse Ponies :{D

That seems a bit Raskin-Bass for me. But if they can make it work, I'm fine with it.

You know it's a good thing there are no Sea Poines, and they don't have marks. If they did and one joined the The Cutie Mark Crusaders she would be two insanly cute.

You don't, but if you add (double brackets)thump(double brackets) to it it replaces the whole post with a semi-random message.
Also, apparently that doesn't work with the nullification brackets.

Part of it is that with a great evil, it reinforces the notion that nobody is beyond redemption, whereas with a regular jerk it's just regular character development or derailment.

Nobody will see through my disguise... this time...
I've never had any problem with it. I'm just explaining why redeeming a big villain is... "better", as it were.

I think part of it is that most people don't know villains like Nightmare Moon, and often find those characters likeable in spite of their evil, so there's no problem seeing them get redeemed. Whereas everyone has had to deal with a jerk like Gilda and are less inclined to feel charitable towards characters who remind them of people they hate.
This account technically started as a sockpuppet but then I grew to LOATHE my old name so this is my main account.
Whoa, Pinkie Pie is here! It's the real Pinkie Pie! She sneaked up and surprised us!
Oh don't be silly. It's just Pinkie P, not Pinkie PIE.
Well some silly filly already took the name Pinkie Pie and since Twilight is Twilight S I figured I'd be Pinkie P.
Wait, there's already a Pinkie Pie? Imposter!
Oh but she doesn't even post here. I'm the real Pinkie Pie.
