@ crowlover: I thought the two of you might be continuing the "twin posters" joke.

What ever do you mean?

My breakdown of races:

• Twilight: Generic white or asian (I've always imagined her as really pale due to not going outside)
• Rarity: White European. She has a stereotypical European accent.
• AJ: White. Stereotypical southern American voice.
• Pinkie: Pinkie could be just about anything. Weirdly enough, out of all the cast she's the one that I can most easily imagine as black. (Think Goo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends) You could also make her possibly Jewish, as she totally has a Jew-fro.
• Rainbow Dash: Greek, as the pegasus race (and her house) seem to be themed that way.
• Fluttershy: I got nothing. I default her to white simply because that's what her voice actress is.

Long story short for me at least, a lot rides on the voices.

Random? Perhaps, I do not know, all I know is that I cannot comprehend a single race or body type or facial structure for anything. I mean first of all it would be boring to draw and lead to blog creations coughjosecocough, but furthermore my world view is simply that the world is huge, diverse, unique, and vast and I less resort to tokenism and more reflect that the world we live in had no tabula rasa.

I grew up in an area surrounded by all types, from kindergarten to second grade my best friends were a white kid, an Asian kid, and a Filipino kid, and the coolest most popular boy in class was an Asian guy. And then I went to international schools for 5 years of my formative years of existence. Limitations are nonsensical to me, it's like it makes no sense to limit yourself first of all because the world isn't and second of all you're being a boring artist coughjosecocough. I support that no tabula rasa in the human form exists.

Maybe. I placed her as a paper skinned Indian. Yes, unlike my previous more randomish choices, that choice is entirely deliberate as a contrast to Teilight and who doesn't love referencing the caste system.

Well I see I've gotten a few replies. @Red: Yours is interesting and i know I want to answer it as I'm sure Mousa could answer it just as well. But I am tired and am in the middle of my only real TV watching hour of the day. I might answer you in a private message though.

I'm wondering if I am answering you on Mousa's illustrations specifically or the concept of diversity itself. I can tell you which one I am interested in answering but that is not actually pertaining to what this thread is about.
