Whew its all about fanservice. I was getting anxious as I thought this was going to be a sociological discussion about the artists' choice to humanize the characters and the races they chose.

I say fanservice yaya but tastefully done.

I am pro-fanservice, although I'm more comfortable with humanized characters.

Anyone with a username that follows a 'X the 14' pattern (aside from... whatsisname, Davidthemouse?) is part of Mousa's psyche.

You couldn't be more wrong actually. None of Mousa's alts follow that pattern, and the only other troper here who does is unrelated to Mousa.

I don't mind fanservice as long as it isn't a substitute or a crutch for the artist to avoid putting actual effort in.

I'm anti-fanservice. That's part of what made watching Code Geass so awkward, especailly everything involving Kallen.

@latenight: Sorry I'm a political science major and I love philosophy and history, so I tend to do that.

I too am anti-fanservice, it's part of what makes getting back to manga wee bit hard.

@Allik (not really, but regarding the topic): I'll agree with you that Mousa's choices are interesting, and definitely novel. I understand entirely if someone thinks Dash is Latina, or Twilight's black, or stuff like that; I don't personally agree with those choices, but it's personal taste. What I do question is the wisdom (or maybe the need) of introducing diversity simply for the sake of diversity - like there's a quota to be fulfilled.
