I'm wondering something: if ponies don't eat meat, why do they eat eggs?

Because unfertilized eggs are not living things.

Birds in the wild cannibalize unfertilized eggs to recycle nutrients. No guilt in eating a blank egg rich in nutrients and protein.

@Bad If there were a book with exactly the same chemical composition as another (including in average spread and including the ink), but one of them was gibberish, Parasprites would eat one just as easily as the other.

And we never see them eat just eggs, they only use them while baking.

@ Crowlover: But such a thing is impossible to prove as they have only eaten books from Twilight's library. Such a repository of knowledge would surely not contain gibberish.

Plus it would be super hard to get two books with identical chemical structure but had completely different contents.

Concerning Rarity's greed, I think that's kinda what I like about her, she's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. The Fridge Brilliance page also discusses how her greed and materialism makes a good foil to her genorosity, especially since she has more ambitions and business sense than the others. There isn't really a consistant "Straight Man" or "Dumb Jerkass" in the squad, which makes the dynamic kinda complex (few of the cast types are that original, but they are some of the most multi faceted examples of them).

Due to the show's usage of Aesops, they tend to make sure that once a character does something rather jerkish, they'll usually do something rather sympathetic or noble at some point to compensate (or vise versa). I'm hoping Flanderization won't come in and warp all this as the show continues (Rainbow Dash is a little jerkier than before, but still likeable).

Is it weird that Rarity looks more manic than Pinkie in this gif?

For some reason, Pinkie actually looks creepier when she's acting sane and serious.

All the episodes are completely predictable if not from the synopsis then from the first few minutes.

I was wondering about that myself. There are threads shorter than this one with pages, but then again they are roleplaying threads with actual tropes.
