@Sup Serp: As a Sonic Fan who lurked and saw the flames rise, I can say that it was due to the that that different kinds of Sonic Fans liked the series in different ways, and some of them were less tolerant of each other than we are of our differences. There were arguments and stuff and now the Fandom is splintered along the major factions with the more sane Sonic fans clustering together for protection here and there. Sheesh, some of the fans were genuinely crazy! I'm glad despite the ocassional Gingerninja rage here and the odd drama there (also the Derpygate scandal lol), our thread here is still much more peaceful than the Sonic fandom.

Well I mostly write in C++, which isn't very conducive to rapid development either. I think Python would be the best bet, or possibly a mix of C++ and Python.

I don't write in any code! Like I said, I do some stuff in MMF 2, which is drag and drop, but I simply can't code. I'm pathetic, aren't I?

Actually, if you just want to write a VN-style game, Python already has Ren'Py. I have no experience with it at all except that it seems rather easy to use.

@ L Mage: Art is helpful. Asking questions to the popular blogs or drawing something to do with them will get you reblogs and followers. It would be helpful to either pick a character that doesn't have many ask blogs or put a fresh twist on a character.

On the other hand, C++ is great if you want to make GBA games. Particularly since it's the only real option unless you want to use assembly or C for some reason.

Well I write Java for a living.

But I've recently been experimenting with the XNA Framework using C#. It's actually a rather fun way for game making. The downside is that the product is Windows only. Took me only a week to learn the language though.

I've experimented with Python in the past but can't remember a darn thing about it anymore. And C/C++.. Ehh.. I don't want to go back there..

So, yeah.. I'm up for almost anything. :B

I use Objective-C which is almost exclusively used in Apple products. It can do games just fine, and I'm actually working on one, but everything is tightly controlled and regulated by Apple, so there's no easy way to publish a fan game written in it and it would only run on Macs or iDevices, so not very many people would be able to play it.

Ah Sonic 06. That brings back memories. Not necessarily good memories but memories none the less.

I played Shadow the Hedgehog and that one Sonic game where you got you swap between a few different teams, but not much else.
