In all honesty, it would surprise me if she just wrote a letter to Celestia going "Hey, these ponies saved the world, you know. Can you toss us some surplus funds?" I mean, she was able to get a private audience with the Princess without any trouble, so I don't think it would be reaching too far to say that she might do that.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if all the disrepair around town hall was CAUSED by Spike, it was just placed as a lower priority building by the mayor because she wanted to help the town first. after repairs, the budget was drained

amazing how I'm the only one who assumes that the Mayor IS a good pony

Every time I take one of those I expect to wind up as Applejack... I have to wonder just how she gets measured, considering some of her best traits are ones that other members of the cast share.
