Celestia always made me think of a master chessplayer. She knows the intricacies of all her pieces. How they move, how to use them, how to position them so that she'll win everytime.
but she doesn't have a true empathic connection with any of them. Not really. She knows what to act like in front of them in order to make them move in a certain way, but no one's ever really seen her true face.
Celestia's completely understanding, but also distant. She knows everything about them, while they know nothing about her.

I'd love to see a flashback episode expanding on the sun and moon history.
I'm actually not too upset. A little annoyed maybe, but overall not actually angry. The possibility that it was a troll had passed my mind.

@Fallen That's why I loved her face in Sweet and elite a few times. They looked like genuine reactions, not pre-meditated (but well-intentioned) manipulation.
Ever notice that everything Celestia does is either in the name of helping the mane cast or teaching them a lesson. She's helping them, but she isn't really close with any of them. She's just become a big ball of kindness. She helps everyone while simultaneously keeping herself distant.
Do you see why I think it could be interesting? With Luna, I know what her issue is. With Celestia we can still speculate.

Being around ten-something pages late and all, I was wondering why everyone was saying about how S3 was going to be awesome, while I get a page on EQD saying the info's fake.

I was getting the feeling that she was getting closer (she inviting Rarity to her castle for instance and Lesson Zero) with the mane cast this season. But she still feels very distant.
