The fanon thing? Mostly because it is obvious.

We already had contrasting parents with Rarity and Pinkie. I would honestly be kind of annoyed if they did that with the rest of the parents.

Type coverage makes it bad. I see rarity mostly going with water types with an occasional grass/normal.

Pinkie should also have a Sandile/Mawile.

I'd replace Lopunny with Ninetales, because a lot of Fire-type moves are Beauty.

In addition: RAINBOW DASH ALWAYS DRESSES IN STYLE.

Lucky today, found a nice suit of Elven Mithril to drive my AC to -1 and got gifted with Greyswandir by Quetzy :D

AJ would also run a Miltank Whitney-style, and pack a loyal Growlithe to match Winona :3

Dashie would have a Pidgeot and a Snorlax

Pinkie would have a toothless Totodile and an Exploud or Whimsur or Jigglypuff with Hyper Voice

Rarity or Fluttershy would have a Minccino for sure :3

Still everytime I hear about how it would be so HILARIOUS if Fluttershy or Rainbow Dash's parents would be the exact opposite as them I just wished they came up with something different.

@Flapjack Going off of the Contest idea, I can see Meganium, but not Leavanny (if it could even be enterd in one) I think that she would replace it with an Ice-type (mostly Beauty moves) like Jynx, Froslass, or Glaceon.

AJ would probably use a mix of grass and ground, with a couple fighting types thrown in for variety.
Fluttershy would probably use primarily normal types.
Twilight would likely use psychics
Pinkie just picks the most funny-looking ones.
